How to Make Your ‘Boo’ Halloween Charcuterie Board
For this board, you’ll need to prepare some of the items before adding them to the spread. Don’t worry, I’ve broken it all down in step-by-step instructions to follow.
Now, you’ll notice I used a traditional (11in x 11in) square board for this spread, but if you want to kick it up a notch, try using a Halloween serving board like these!
Easy Halloween Charcuterie Board Ingredients
- ½ cup dried apricots
- 1 Kit Kat Bar
- 1 roll of Rolos
- ¼ cup apricot jam
- ⅓ cup cashews
- 15 assorted crackers
- 1, 8 oz block smoked apple cheddar cheese
- 1, 8 oz wheel of brie
- ½ cup white cheddar cubes
- ½ cup cheddar cubes
How to Make Halloween Popcorn Balls
You’ll need to make your popcorn balls first, before making the rest of your spread. Technically you can do them last, but it’s easier and saves a little more time to make them first. Plus, they’re so simple and yummy, and everyone always loves them!
What You’ll Need:
- 1 bag of unpopped popcorn
- 4 cups mini marshmallows
- 2 Tbsp unsalted butter
- ¼ cup white chocolate melting wafers
- 1 package of M&Ms
How To Prepare the Popcorn Balls:
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- Pop your preferred popcorn in the microwave and place it in a large bowl.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the marshmallows and stir frequently with a rubber spatula until melted (about 3-5 minutes).
- Pour the melted marshmallows over the popcorn and mix well to combine. Allow it to cool slightly for about 1 minute.
- Spray your hands with cooking spray and form palm-sized balls of popcorn, pressing them firmly together. Place the balls on the baking sheet. Repeat to make 12 popcorn balls.
- Wash your hands and press Halloween-colored M&Ms (or Reeses Pieces if there are no peanut allergies among your guests) into the popcorn balls. Melt the chocolate wafers in a microwave-safe bowl according to the package instructions and drizzle over each ball.
Prepare the Brie:
- With a sharp knife, remove the top ¼ of the brie wheel. Carefully cut out the word “BOO” from the piece you cut off.
- Spread apricot jam on the bottom portion of the brie and then cover with the top.
Prepare the Cheeses:
- Cut the smoked apple cheddar into triangles.
- Arrange the white cheddar cubes and cheddar cubes.
Assemble the Board:
- Follow the pictures provided (or make your own creative arrangement) to place the popcorn balls, cheeses, dried apricots, Kit Kat Bar, Rolos, cashews, and crackers on the board.
- You can use a Halloween serving tray as I mentioned earlier in the article.
- You could even add little cuties (mini oranges) onto the board and decorate them like little pumpkins…the options are endless when it comes to customizing a charcuterie board!
The final step? Show this beauty off at whatever party or gathering you’ll be having or attending and watch the guests enjoy!
Tips for Customizing Your Halloween Charcuterie Board
- Get Creative: Use a mix of sweet and savory items to keep your charcuterie board interesting. Feel free to add other spooky-themed treats like gummy worms, black olives, or even some candy eyeballs.
- Kid-Friendly Fun: Involve your kids in assembling the charcuterie board. They’ll love helping to press the M&Ms into the popcorn balls and arranging all of the treats.
- Perfect for Parties: This easy Halloween charcuterie board is a great centerpiece for any Halloween party, spooky season gathering, or even a themed baby shower. Make it big, or make it small. It’s both a treat and a decoration!
Creating this spooky Halloween charcuterie board is far from complicated which is why I’m sharing it with you. I know how we often want to make these fun treats for the holidays, but as moms we don’t always have the time or patience, so now you have the best solution!
