After 2 years of being Blueberry Pediatric subscribers, I want to spill the beans about the popular app that brings pediatric care to you. Is the Blueberry Pediatrics app worth the cost? Do you actually get to speak with a pediatrician? Let’s break it all down.
When I first heard about Blueberry Pediatrics, they we’re just starting out. They had around 2k followers on their Instagram. Their website was pretty basic. I wasn’t fully convinced that this was a service I could trust as a parent, if I’m being fully transparent.
Fast forward to around 8 to 10 months later. I came across the brand again, except this time they had grown! Their social media following was much more established, they had a new (very user-friendly) website. I had started reading through their services and thought, “hmm…this could actually be helpful” (as we had just gotten over our 4th cold of the year between myself and our two little boys).
So, I subscribed for 1 month to try it out and then contacted the brand in which they gifted me a few months to try and share IF I had a good experience.
That’s what makes this review a bit more unique…because I did and have actually paid to use this service for my kiddos. But is it worth it to keep going? I will share exactly that below!

What is Blueberry Pediatrics?
Blueberry Pediatrics is a membership-based virtual care service that gives you 24/7 access to real, board-certified pediatricians, without the stress of packing up the kids and heading to urgent care. That means you can get care at home without being stuck in a room for who knows how long with a bunch of other sick people. That was the biggest selling point for me.
Through the Blueberry app for parents, you can send a quick chat or speak with a doctor whenever you need to. Middle-of-the-night fevers? Lingering allergies? A rash that popped up out of nowhere? Or maybe you’re just not sure if that lingering cough is worth a trip to get a further work-up. Blueberry is designed to help you get quick, expert answers without second-guessing yourself.
And if you’ve been looking up Blueberry Pediatrics reviews or scrolling through Blueberry Pediatrics Reddit threads (like this one), you’ll probably notice one big theme: parents love the peace of mind it brings.

One of the coolest things about Blueberry is the otoscope they send you when you sign up. It connects to your phone so the doctors can actually see inside your child’s ears and throat during a “visit”.
It’s a total game changer when you’re trying to figure out if it’s an ear infection or just teething fussiness.
The service is available in many U.S. states (Blueberry Pediatrics states covered availability can be found here), and they’re constantly expanding. Honestly, it feels like the kind of tool every parent should have in their back pocket, and it’s one I wish I had taken the plunge on sooner. Especially in those chaotic, “is this nothing or something?” moments.
Is the Blueberry Pediatrics App & Services Legit?
I know, as a mom of two, trusting your child’s well-being with someone else is one of the hardest things to do. Which is why the number one question I get asked by my friends whenever I share about Blueberry Pediatrics is, is it legit?
Yes, it is very legit. Aside from working with Board Certified Pediatricians, they also state that their Pediatricians have years of clinical practice. That means they’ve had a lot of hands-on experience working in that direct field.
Blueberry Pediatrics can help you treat things like:
- Strep throat
- Flu Symptoms
- Coughs
- Sinus Infections
- Ear Infections (this was one we used them SO much for, and it saved my sanity and helped me advocate for my son to finally get proper treatment via ear tube placement)
- Sun Burns
- Pink Eye
- GI Upset (vomiting, diarrhea, and nausea)
- Allergies
- and SO MUCH MORE!
Another cool thing is if you have school aged kiddos like I do, they can provide a school note for you to use (as medically appropriate) if your child is absent due to illness.

How Does Blueberry Pediatrics Work?
The app is incredibly simple to use. Plus, when you sign up for your subscription, you’ll receive a Home Medical Welcome Kit that includes the following:
- Thermometer
- Finger Pulse Oximeter
- Digital Otoscope + Attachment Tips (I’ve used the Blueberry Pediatrics Otoscope so many times, it’s seriously come in so helpful)
- Forehead thermometer is also included for annual memberships

While simple, these tools make it simple to request a “visit” for your child through the app.
Simply open up your app and click on ‘start visit. ‘ Then, you’ll be walked through a set of vitals you’ll need to provide, such as your child’s temperature, pulse rate, respiratory rate, etc. You’ll then be asked a set of questions about their symptoms and concerns.
After you answer all the questions, your visit will be sent over to a pediatrician, and all you have to do is wait for the call. It is SO simple!

How Much Does Blueberry Pediatrics Cost?
Now for probably the most important part, the cost. A Blueberry Membership runs $29/month (when paid monthly) or $216 per year (which lowers the monthly cost to $18/month – a $132 savings).
One thing I will say is if you have stellar medical insurance coverage and/or have the option to do video or phone call visits with your child’s primary care pediatrician, this app probably won’t benefit you.
The one reason I was really interested in trying this app when I did was that my son would get constant ear infections. Getting an appointment with my child’s doctor always took forever, leaving us to head into urgent care, which was a decent drive from us. My husband is also a first responder, so I’d have to lug my older son with us, and it just wasn’t a fun ordeal for anyone.
When I started using Blueberry, it saved us from at least 6 urgent care visits and saved us the $40 copay each time (it pretty much covered itself in terms of the annual fee).
Lastly, you don’t pay per child! It’s one membership cost that covers ALL your kiddos.
Why We LOVE Blueberry Pediatrics
Aside from the convenience of getting care at home rather than lugging everyone over to a doctor’s office (because there will be times it’s just inevitable), there were other benefits of using this app.
One of them is the (almost) instant peace of mind they offer. We’ve all been there as parents. An accident or random illness has sprung, and you’re debating if a doctor visit is warranted. Often times my rule of thumb is if you have to question it, it’s probably a legit concern.
However, we all know us moms can worry excessively, too. Blueberry Pediatrics is that bridge between worry and action. If you’re worried, it just takes a simple chat message or phone visit to find out if they recommend you take your child in or if it’s something they can help you treat from home.
Needless to say, I will happily continue using Blueberry Pediatrics as a convenient way to get my kiddos the help they need whenever they’re feeling under the weather. Plus, if it means we can avoid a hectic office or urgent care visit, it can’t get any better than that!
